Elsewhere, Fox had nothing unusual to report with its combination of House (#2: 6.0/ 9), which moves to Mondays at 9 p.m. out of new Steven Spielberg drama Terra Nova next fall, and canceled The Chicago Code (#3: 4./3/ 6). NBC was out of the competitive loop as always with its line-up of the season-finale of Chuck (#4: 2.9/ 5), which heads to Fridays at 8 p.m. next fall, and new episodes of canceled The Event (#4: 2.8/ 4) and Law & Order: Los Angeles (#3: 3.3/ 6). And The CW aired the season-finale episodes of 90210 (#5: 1.4/ 2) andGossip Girl (#5: 1.2/ 2), which should have been series-enders.

Last week, Serena’s cousin Charlie stopped taking her pills and wanted Dan to sex her on up while pretending she was Serena. Chuck found out Daddy Thorpe was responsible for his wife’s death and sent him back (allegedly) to Chicago. Raina/Reina/Rayna found out from Nate and Daddy Thorpe is going to take it out on Chuck. Chuck still loves Blair but he hurt her face. Blair is engaged to the prince. But she’s left him at the party to go save Chuck. Serena has just lost her damn mind. Vanessa and Jenny are leaving the show and all we can say is about time about the former and didn’t they already about the latter. And.. I’m sure I forgot something, but strap on and let’s go.

We start at a party! Wow, everything is upside down. Dan is flipped out about the Charlie/Serena weird. Chuck is looking for Blair. Blair went to Chuck’s hotel and now she’s trapped on the roof with Daddy Thorpe and he’s playing with fire and drinking. Rayna/Reina wanted to apologize but it’s too late.

Ohhh, Georgina Sparks! Welcome back girlie. Her re-entry hello to Gossip Girl was the funniest dialogue since, well, we can’t remember. But she’s desperate to get into the scheming via Serena/Blair/Dan because Desperate Housewives doesn’t have any openings. She’s mad that Vanessa is involved but she’s not. Us too!

Home Prison Lily is watching the party via web cam. Serena is now going to Columbia? Her former headmistress says something about how she should have gone to Europe and lived life instead of college. Oh foreshadowing GG writers, thou art so subtle.

Chuck overhears Blair telling Daddy Thorpe that Chuck almost destroyed her. But Chuck is still number one on her speed dial. He barges in on Daddy Thorpe holding a gun, but Rayna/Reina takes the gun away and tells him she knows it was an accident. mmm We love Chuck in a -patterned?- tux and lavender bow tie.

Off-her-meds Charlie was found by Georgina who sends her to a room with an open window. And we’re… at a Bar Mitzvah watching Chuck and Blair dancing to Adele? Wasn’t Adele on last week’s Glee and Dancing with the Stars? That Brit, she does get around. Awhh, they look so happy, pretending to be Jewish. The hora gets to them, and they are all schmooching and doing some very non-tween activities. Oh, finally. See, isn’t that kiss much hotter than anything Bland provided? Blair says it’s complicated, intense, all-consuming love that pulls them in.

Serena finds Charlie in a bad place. Charlie says every girl wants to be Serena and every guy wants to date her. Except for prison guy and Nate and Dan, of course. Somehow people want Serena to chose Dan or Nate. Why? Vanessa finds Dan’s manuscript. There is a really boring conversation about his book.

The prince is still waiting for Blair. Chuck tells the prince that he’ll always be waiting for Blair, something romantic. She’s about to call it off, but Chuck steps in and stops her. He says there’s a difference between a great love and the right love, and that Blair deserves the fairytale. They should have stopped it right there but then it descends into they need to let each other go and they will always love each other cliches. She then leaves to join her prince, whom she’s known for 10 minutes and there’s never been hot sex at a Bat Mitzvah.

Charlie is miraculously fine, suddenly. Georgina apparently knows she wasn’t ever on meds. We are all confused. Turns out she’s really Ivy and was paid by the real Charlie’s mother to make sure the VanderWs wouldn’t come after her ever again.

Three weeks later, it’s morning over Manhattan. Daddy Thorpe is going to jail. Mommy Lily is sending her boy off to college. Blair is headed to Monaco to get married. She’s still being friendly with Dan. Charlie is taking the bus to Florida. Serena is wearing the shortest skirt known to man and a hot pink top. She’s dressed like a NASCAR sports car. She’s going to do nothing on the beach. She needs to be alone in Malibu.

Chuck is sad. He’s sitting with do-nothing Nate, doing nothing together. Dan is doing nothing in Long Island with Eric. And Vanessa is pretending to represent Dan as a literary agent and going to Spain.

And we end with Serena on the beach getting a job in the movies. And there’s a positive pregnancy kit in (we think) Blair’s bedroom.

That puts us on pause until next season. XOXO for summer!

a) “Dan isn’t over Blair at all. His secret that Vanessa finds out is that he wrote a book called “Inside” Vanessa reads it and I think Dan says he’s been working on it for about five years.So that’s the reason he wanted to be caught up in UES. He doesn’t want it published anymore, cares about all of these people…but Vanessa gives it to a publisher at the very end…and says shes going to Barcelona.”

b) “It’s true that Dan has been writing a book about the upper east side. But now that he knows these people that has now become his friends and family, he doesn’t want to publish it anymore. Vanessa finds the book when she goes to the loft to look for Charlie and she reads it. She calls Dan and lets him know how good it is and that he should publish it and not let his feelings for the others stop him. She also says that not everyone would be mad at him for writing this book because “a certain someone might like how she is painted in the book” and she’s not talking about Serena (Blair). But Dan is upset because he is sure that if anyone reads the book, it will for sure make him the ultimate outsider..”

c) “Referring back to the other post about how the UES kids are “painted”:

It IS Blair. (Sorry if that was unclear).

Apparently the book is sort of a satire where I’m guessing he’s practically mocking them… But Blair is the only one he “painted” well.”

d) “For the book spoiler I forgot that they said they’re going to print an excerpt for a major magazine in the fall, and have the book out by spring. So it sounds like a season long arc for Dan.”

2. Gross

a) “Blair and Chuck have sex and Blair immediately wants to tell the prince that they are over and she wants to be with Chuck. But Chuck sees how happy she is without him and that he brings out the dark side in her, so he lets her go and tells the prince that they have his blessing…

So they kind of redeem Chuck in that way. He puts aside his feelings and what he wants, so that Blair can be happy without feeling like she chose the prince over him. He sorta did that for her.”

b) “Yeah, Blair and Chuck have sex. It sucks.

Blair talks to Russell on roof…says that Chuck treated her like property.
Chuck does apologize for everything.

Chuck learns that the Prince waited all night for Blair to come back.
Chuck tells Blair that the Prince waited all night, while he couldn’t wait two minutes after the empire state building thing.

So yeah, i wish Blair could have had that realization on her own.”

b) “Um well I think Dan says if you’re ever lonely, and Blair says that she already copied his netflix…and they’re gonna watch a movie later that week.”

4. Some more commentary by the person that apparently read the scripts (Scripts, so keep in mind EVERYTHING COULD BE CUT.)

“But it is sooo clear from the script that Chuck and Blair are done and it seemed really unforced and real. (EN: I wish.) And we all know that the prince isn’t going to be there forever. The writers are really building up to a Dan/Blair relationship of some sort.

They have a lot of things to take further. The whole book thing. When Vanessa left, she made sure that the book would get published (the author is anonymous, but still…) and when Blair reads it – and sees that she is probably the only one who is portrayed in a rather nice way – she’ll probably be really touched.

And also in the script it shows how Dan looks after Blair when she leaves for Monaco with the Prince. And Dan goes away to relax and think about things with Eric. And Eric is the only one who truly knows how Dan feels about Blair.

I think that Dair happening in season 5 is very much set in stone.”
