As it turns out, Blair Waldorf and Leighton Meester probably wouldn’t be BFFs in real life. While the Gossip Girl actress’s character is known for her designer wardrobe and flawless beauty, in real life, Meester couldn’t care less about keeping up with the trends or taming her tresses. “I’m not super OCD when it comes to every little flyaway,” Meester told PEOPLE. “I like being a little undone.”

And while the 24-year-old star recently became global spokeswoman for hair care brand Herbal Essences, she wouldn’t hesitate to chop off her signature long locks if for the right role. “I know it’s just hair and I can change it however I want. I haven’t shaved my head or anything like that.

But, you know if I needed to! It’s part of my job to change my hair.” For Meester, embracing change is part of her routine, admitting to “playing a part” when she’s on a red carpet. And she turns to her dream team, including makeup artist Chris Colbeck and hairstylist Charles Baker Strahan, to help create her image.

‘She definitely she has a flame burning for Chuck,’ the CW star tells MTV News of her character, Blair. ‘Who wouldn’t?’

“Gossip Girl” will go international when season four kicks off this fall. And while we know the Upper East Siders take their drama to Paris, we wondered what else fans could expect from Blair Waldorf and the crew. For one, is now the right time for Chuck (Ed Westwick) to date a new girl (Clemence Poésy)? We put that question and more to star Leighton Meester when we visited the set of her upcoming movie “Monte Carlo.”

“I am a fan, which sounds ridiculous, of Chuck and Blair,” Leighton told MTV News of the on-off couple she portrays with Westwick. “I love their relationship, and I really love working with Ed, which is what it probably boils down to. But yeah, I think maybe there needed to be some sort of break in their relationship and some sort of drama,” she continued. “Maybe it was going too well, and then there was the downward spiral with his uncle, which was fun to play out but I hate fighting.”

Chuck won’t be the only one getting some action as Poésy’s new character shakes things up: Former “Melrose Place” star Katie Cassidy is set to ignite Nate’s (Chace Crawford) love life next season.

“I hope we cross paths, but it would be weird to have a completely different dynamic [onscreen],” Meester said of Cassidy who’s also her co-star in the upcoming ”Monte Carlo.” “I mean, it would be really fun. I think she’s coming on the show, maybe, to cause a little bit of trouble. She might not say it, but I will. I think she’s very much capable of that, at least in the show. I think [Nate's] a total playboy and needs to be single and I think [Katie's character] is a bad girl, so maybe they are good for each other, actually,” Meester said.

But what about Chuck and Blair? They can’t really be over, right?

“I think Blair has done some healing, but not entirely,” she teased. “She definitely she has a flame burning for Chuck. Who wouldn’t?”

The 24-year-old Gossip Girl actress spends most of her free time typing messages on her mobile phone, confessing it is all she does in between shooting scenes for the hit US drama. Leighton says she is now “really good” at typing texts quickly, and often shocks her friends with the speed of her replies and use of sms lingo.

“I am very fast,” she is quoted as saying. “That’s mainly because I text so much. I am a text addict. It is often what I end up doing when I’m on set and have to be really quiet – I text.

“I have gotten really, really good and it is really sad! I use all those abbreviations too.”

Leighton plays queen bee Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl, which is about a group of wealthy New York high school students. Leighton and her co-star Blake Lively, who plays Upper East Side princess Serena van der Woodsen, have recently been filming dramatic scenes for an upcoming episode of the series in Paris, France.

Leighton Meester worries people think she’s “crazy” when they see her walking around in her Gossip Girl costumes.

The actress plays queen bee Blair Waldorf in the American drama series, which is filmed and based in New York. The show is famed for the outfits the characters wear, and as someone who takes an interest in the catwalk Leighton enjoys having the opportunity to dress up.

However, she is less keen on some of the comments her flamboyant costumes attract. “It’s fun to dress up, much better than having boring clothes, but it can be challenging because I know I have to walk down the street in a ball gown sometimes,” she explained. “People point at me and say ‘Who is that crazy person?’ I just have to try and ignore it.”

Leighton has previously admitted her personal style is very different to Blair’s. She loves the way her character is always so polished and fashionable, but in her own life prefers to be more comfortable.

The actress has picked up some tips from being on the show though, namely that it’s good to mix high-end and cheaper pieces to create a signature look.

“It doesn’t always have to be the same all the time,” she said. “Of course my character has, like, really great taste, but sometimes they’ll throw in something from H&M, and it looks great. So there are really no rules.”
