Jive Records just reached out to me last week and they want me to write for David Archuleta’s new album. I’ve been writing with Toni Braxton and Leighton Meester, who’s been working on a record. It’s opened a lot of people’s eyes in the industry, too. It’s definitely a great feeling to be recognized and to be asked to work with their artists.”

Leighton Meester, of The CW’s Gossip Girl, was spotted at Pastis lunching with an unidentified male. The busy Parisian brasserie is a fantastic spot for a romantic occasion or an afternoon chat, so who knows the purpose of the meeting.

Leighton Meester has already made a name for herself as a TV star as Blair Waldorf on “Gossip Girl,” and her upcoming film “The Roommate” could very well represent her big crossover into movies. But Meester also has a music career she’s trying to develop: She signed a record deal with Universal back in April and is currently working on an album. Meanwhile, she does a guest spot on Cobra Starship’s new single “Good Girls Go Bad.” The video for that track doesn’t debut until next week, but MTV News’ Jim Cantiello gave a sneak peak to a handful of fans waiting to get into today’s episode of “It’s On With Alexa Chung,” and here’s what they had to say.

Meester is surrounding herself with the right kind of talent (including hit songwriter and “American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi) and doesn’t seem to take herself too seriously. As long as she doesn’t attempt to put out a “meaningful” concept album or become obsessed with prog rock, she should do just fine. What do you think? SheKnows was invited to the Sony studios set for the psychological thriller The Roommate starring Leighton Meester of Gossip Girl, Minka Kelly from Friday Night Lights and buff Cam Gigandet of Twilight.

We can’t say a lot yet, but trust us — this is Leighton Meester as you’ve never seen her before. In the film, two college coeds, both interested in art and fashion, become roomies. One will turn out to be a little stranger than expected. Cam plays Minka’s rock band drummer boyfriend and, of course all does not stay rosy in the halls and rooms of ye olde ivy-covered dorm.

After watching some pretty intense and bizarre stuff going on between Leighton’s character Rebecca and her sympathetic roomie Sara, played by Minka, we got to pull the girls aside for a little chat. Picture them both in college girl casual dormwear, and both young women looked gorgeous with minimal make-up (we turn green with envy). We can’t reveal specific plot points until closer to the film’s opening next year but, we were able to get the scoop on Leighton and Minka’s personal relationship and their upcoming projects.

Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson, Kim Kardashian and Elizabeth Jagger have all catapulted to new heights of fame thanks to the leakage of unauthorized sex tapes — so is it just a matter of time before Leighton Meester joins the line-up?

An alleged sex tape of the “Gossip Girl” (believed to be shot with an ex-boyfriend when she was 18 years old) made the Tinseltown rounds last week with a price tag of a cool $100,000.

“Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester having sex with her BF… on video.

We’ve learned a Meester tape is being shopped around town. It was shot a few years back, and shows Leighton in mostly innocuous though nude scenes — with several big exceptions … one involving her very talented feet.

We’re told a company called celebhotline.com is negotiating for the video. The company’s spokesperson, Kevin Blatt told us, “We’ve seen the tape and we’re hoping to close the deal.”

We contacted Leighton’s rep but so far … no comment.
